Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech), a premiere automotive technical-vocational (tech-voc) institution, together with Toyota Motor Philippines Foundation (TMPF), recently partnered with Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), for a 2-phase training program for CPSC member countries.

TMP Tech with the support of TMPF, partnered with CPSC for the “Training of Trainers on Automotive Technical Professionals” intended for further advancement of TVET Automotive Trainers' competency in teaching advanced automotive maintenance and management at their institutions. CPSC is a unique Inter-Governmental Organization (IGO), which consistently addresses issues in Technical and Vocational Education & Training in the Asia Pacific region. The training program consists of 2 phases: the first phase of the training was held via online on August 23-27, 2022 and the second phase which lasted for 5 days was held last August 8-12, 2022 at TMP Tech’s training facility in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. The training consisted of interactive theoretical and practical workshop activities for 20 participants from 13-member countries of CPSC.  Participants were also able to visit Toyota Santa Rosa Dealership for an Observational Study Tour on August 11, 2022.

The representatives from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand were trained on Diesel and Gasoline Engine Management, Diagnose and Repair of Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT), Diagnose and Repair of Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and Toyota Hybrid System.

Through this partnership, the School supports the further development of Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) systems in the Philippines and the Asia Pacific region.
